Mission Youth Outreach
Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama (BGCNAL) wants local military families to know about Mission: Youth Outreach.
Our program, Mission: Youth Outreach, provides children who have a parent/guardian in the: Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and/or Navy on Guard, Reserve, or Active duty to attend any of BGCNAL 10 Club throughout Madison and Limestone Counties FREE.
BGCNAL knows children in these families face special challenges, from long separations to worries about parents' safety. These youth need the stability and predictability of Boys & Girls Club programs. They need the caring guidance our Club staff provides. Most importantly they need the chance to relax and have fun – all while trying new activities, learning new skills and exploring career paths.
"Our Clubs are a place where kids from all backgrounds can come together to learn important life skills from our staff and each other,” said Patrick Wynn, President/CPO of Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama. "Having a consistent, positive environment like our Clubs help kids from all variety of family situations find support and stay on the right track towards a healthy and productive future.”
BGCNAL is dedicated to helping and supporting our local military families. By opening our doors we want to provide these young people with a safe place to go, staffed with caring adults who offers that extra relief for these families.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America's partnership with the military began during the Persian Gulf crisis. As parents in the Reserves and National Guard were deployed overseas, BGCA asked local Clubs to reach out to the young people in their area, providing memberships and special programming in their time of need.
