Former Alabama and Auburn quarterbacks Jay Barker and Stan White will keynote the inaugural Great Futures Dinner benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama and their Morgan County Clubs on August 22nd at Burningtree Country Club, dinner will be held at 6:30 pm. Table sponsorships are available by contacting Caki Bolding (BGCNAL Resource Development Coordinator) and individual tickets can also be purchased online.
The Boys & Girls Clubs in Morgan County are now part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama, a regional organization, operating 15 club sites across North Alabama including 2 clubs in Decatur, 1 in Priceville and a 4th club opening at Oak Park Elementary on Sept. 9th. The organization is also renovating the old firestation #4 as a Teen Center. Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting these projects and other initiatives in Morgan County.
Boys & Girls Clubs offer youth (ages 5-18) with a safe place to go after school and in the summer with life-changing programs, unique experiences, and relationships with mentors that inspire and enable them to realize their full potential.
“There is nothing better than watching a young person begin to recognize what they’re capable of.” says Patrick Wynn, BGCNAL President, and Chief Professional Officer. “For many kids, the Boys & Girls Club is the only place they can find accountability, experiences, and opportunities they need to succeed. That’s why we’re partnering with community leaders, businesses, industries, and great people in Morgan County to do whatever it takes to raise the next generation of leaders. It’s a new model for investing in our future and it’s working.”
