 21st CCLC Family Engagement Coordinator - 3rd STREET

Decatur, AL

Family Engagement Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the school administrators, faculty, staff, students’ parents and 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) initiative. This key position will improve communication between the school and the students’ families; promote parent engagement in their children’s education; and to encourage greater community involvement in the school. This is a part-time position requiring a flexible schedule. Responsibilities will include coordinating family events/workshops during the evenings or weekends and participating in the schools PTO, School Improvement Team, School Committee meetings, and other appropriate committees. Provide enrichment programming for the afterschool program to better form relationships with the children as an entry to meeting their parents. Our ultimate goal is to assist parents in becoming more involved with their children’s education and to promote a sense of community. Responsibilities will also include assisting the Site Coordinator with the 21st CCLC after school initiatives at the schools.

Responsibilities:

  1. Candidate must be bilingual in Spanish.

  2. Work closely with the schools and the community to ensure strong communication and partnership between schools/community and 21st CCLC initiative.

  3. Plan, execute, and reflect on family/community events and workshops/trainings based on family/community needs for the elementary school.

  4. Coordinate incentives such as field trips, childcare, awards, games, and other fun family engagement activities to encourage family participation in school related events. Conduct outreach to parents to encourage their participation in school life-PTO, School Improvement Team, volunteerism, Parent/Teacher conferences, school events, their children’s attendance in the after school program, etc.

  5. Plan & teach enrichment or educational programs in the after school program.

  6. Work collaboratively with the Site Coordinator from the school, to promote program/event participation, community involvement and other shared responsibilities. Disseminate and collect appropriate evaluation data (attendance, surveys, etc.) necessary for evaluation activities.

  7. Review and monitor tracking tool and utilize data to manage student attendance and family participation/volunteerism and retention.

  8. Demonstrate knowledge in community-based programs with a clear understanding of urban issues and communities.

  9. Must have strong computer skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Director of Youth & Teen Development - CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS

DIRECTOR OF YOUTH & TEEN DEVELOPMENT

The Director of Youth & Teen Programming is responsible for the overall development, management, and evaluation of programs and services for teenagers. This role involves creating and implementing dynamic programs that cater to the educational, recreational, social, and emotional needs of teens. The Director will work closely with staff, volunteers, community partners, and teens to ensure the delivery of high-quality programming.

 

Responsibilities:

  •  Develop and oversee a comprehensive suite of programs and activities for teens, including educational workshops, recreational activities, leadership training, and community service projects.

  •  Design and implement program curricula that align with the organization’s mission and goals.

  •  Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to ensure continuous improvement and relevance.

  •  Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff and volunteers.

  •  Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff and volunteers.

  •  Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

  •  Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to enhance program offerings and outreach.

  •  Act as a liaison between the organization and the community, promoting the program and its impact.

  •  Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and other functions.

  •  Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, donations, and sponsorships.

  •  Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on program activities, participation, and outcomes.

  •  Engage with teens to understand their needs, interests, and challenges.

  •  Provide guidance and support to teens, fostering a safe and inclusive environment.

  •  Advocate for the interests and needs of teens within the organization and the broader community.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, youth development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  •  Minimum of 5 years of experience in youth programming, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

  •  Proven track record of developing and managing successful teen programs.
     
    Skills and Abilities

  •  Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  •  Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including staff, volunteers, teens, and community partners.

  •  Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

  •  Proficient in the use of technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.

Facility Management Director - CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS

Huntsville, AL

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer or Director of Operations and Club  Directors, the Facility Management Director is responsible for the planning, organizing, managing, and directing various technical responsibilities associated with the maintenance of facilities, vehicles, grounds, and equipment.

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, VP/Assistant Executive Director of Director of Operations

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Leadership

  1. Provide Leadership and Direction to Maintenance of Facilities

  2. Provide Leadership in Identifying and Minimizing Risks in the Club's Physical Environment

 

Resource Management

  1. Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the physical properties and equipment of the Club, including use of facilities by outside groups.

 

Risk Management and Maintenance

  1. Ensure Adherence to Appropriate Safety Procedures

  2. Ensure safe Use of Tools/Equipment Operations and Proper Maintenance

  3. Appropriate Use of Cleaning Materials/Supplies

  4. Ensure a clean, healthy, safe, positive environment is created and maintained producing a sense of physical and emotional safety

  5. Ensure that staff and others assist in creating a clean, healthy, safe, positive environment

  6. Ensure an attractive, welcoming and fun environment is created and maintained

  7. Ensure that facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained          

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.   Purchase or approve purchase of related supplies and equipment.

2.   Exercise authority in problems relating to facility safety issues.

3.   Monitor work of vendors and contractors.

4.   Assume other duties as assigned.

  

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal:  Maintains close, daily contact with Club professional staff to ensure a clean, healthy, safe, positive environment is created and maintained producing a sense of physical and emotional safety and minimizing risks in the Club's physical environment.

 

 SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

 

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education preferred

  • Combination of education, training and experience equivalent to five years in a related technical trade; at least three years of management experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of processes related to facility management

  • A comprehensive knowledge of construction and maintenance standards

  • Knowledge of developing, monitoring and controlling facility management budget

  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards, Safe Drinking Water Standards, all appropriate life safety and fire and health codes, Americans with Disabilities Act and applicable state and local building codes

  • Knowledge and safe use of cleaning compounds and solvents used in the line of custodial maintenance

  • Knowledge of procurement requirements including blanket purchase arrangements, solicitation of bids for goods and services, use of GSA Supply Schedules and FSS procurement documents
