At just 15 years old, Khaliyah Nance is already proving what it means to lead with purpose. A sophomore at Huntsville High School and proud member of the Cavalry Teen Center, Khaliyah is driven by one simple motto:
“I can’t stop & won’t stop until I succeed.”
And she means it. With a 3.89 GPA and plans to attend UAB to pursue a career in the medical field, Khaliyah is focused on making a difference—not someday, but right now.
What stands out most about Khaliyah isn’t just her determination—it’s her heart for service. From the moment she joined the Cavalry Teen Center, she made an impression with her compassion and leadership. During a “Walk & Talk” around the track, she spoke about her dream to uplift others and build a legacy of care—especially through healthcare.
That dream shows up in everything she does. She volunteers at local nursing homes, mentors foster youth, and steps up to support her peers at the Club. Whether she’s helping a younger member feel welcome or assisting staff as a student worker, Khaliyah leads with kindness and consistency.
Her involvement at the Club extends even further. As a member of the Robotics Team and the Center of Transformation program, she’s exploring her interests, building skills for her future, and gaining confidence with every new challenge. Reflecting on her experience at CoT, she shared:
The program opened my eyes to see the world from a different perspective—showing me ways to make a difference, and how even the smallest change can have a huge impact. It also helped me with my communication skills and gave me more opportunities than I could ask for my future.”
When asked what she’s learned about leadership, Khaliyah puts it beautifully:
“When leading by example I learned to embrace my mistakes and face tough decisions, but with the right people by my side and a resilient mindset, I became a leader.”
Khaliyah’s journey is a testament to what happens when opportunity meets determination. Her story reminds us that leadership doesn’t start with a title—it starts with the courage to grow, to give back, and to keep going even when things get hard.
Thanks to the support of caring mentors and the programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama, Khaliyah is not just dreaming of a better future—she’s building it.
